So I’ve now got my first month back done and in an easy week before building again from next week. All the graphs are showing positive things, suggesting I am as fit now as I was in Febuary this year!

This year me and my coach have planned a very gradual, more traditional build to winter so I don’t end up in a hole like last year. So far this seems to be working perfectly. Focussing on base riding and strength in the gym is going well. I forget how much I enjoy the gym every winter. It is so clear to see progression, it makes for an exciting mix in my normal training along with seeing clear improvements in the summer. After this gentle week, I will start building again. I have a nice little training camp planned for a few weeks. It will be nice to get away and ride some proper roads, even if it is just for a week. The climbing training will begin!
I did have a slightly weird few weeks where I started to get very close to race weight. But noticing this I quickly realised thats ridiculous! It’s October! So I went to a cafe and had some cake. I’ve chose to raise the weight for the time being up to something more casual and then I can drop it gradually again when I go to Calpe in January.
I am hoping to have some big announcements soon if everything goes to plan…so WATCH THIS SPACE!
